Oregon, it was a trip I took in March of 2011. I went there to see my best friend before she moved back to New Mexico. The area is Gorgeous!
This is our busy day. This was the day we shopped. It was the day I went to the beach; we actually hit the beach twice and both days were overcast. This was the day I toured a Coast Guard ship. It was the day I viewed Jersey Shores, the first and only time I've viewed that show. It was also the last night I hung out with the Coast Guard, at a fun little bar in Astoria. My entire trip was spent driving to different cities in Oregon and Washington.
The beach - it was cold and overcast, not quite bikini weather. I always seem to hit beaches at the wrong time of the year.
Leave it to me to find the place with all the candy. Bloodhound senses kick in when sweets are around.
I'm a sucker for vintage, in art and clothing. According to Merriam Webster, the term vintage relates primarily to wine and is an altered form of the French word vendage, meaning "the grapes picked during a season." One of its secondary definitions is "a period of origin or manufacture" (e.g., a vintage 1960s Mercedes) or "length of existence: age." I like that definition of "vintage", being an item that is emblematic of its era. It makes perfect sense considering the word's heritage as a wine term.
Amanda, we were buying candy for the Jersey Shore hangout.
Can you guess which one I purchased? Those who know me know that I love all things pumpkin. I also like the flavor of eggnog. That is why I purchased both the pumpkin and the eggnog.
Seaside isn't a far drive from Astoria, about 14 miles. It wasn't an all day trip, just a short shopping spree.
Astoria is a quaint little coastal community situated near the mouth of the Columbia River. Sea Lions are very common along the central coast of Oregon. These guys are residents of Astoria, it's very common to see them hanging out on the docks as well as swimming in the water. Sea Lions make a lot of noise, they are constantly barking. One of the coolest thing to do in Astoria, besides going to Astoria Column, is to watch the Sea Lions on the docks.
I wasn't really ship watching, but I did find myself fascinated by all the different types of cargo ships and sea going vessels streaming along the Columbia River.
The sky, an object of vast beauty, an infinite mystery, a simple sunset is what I witnessed that day. The orange glow, a precursor to the oncoming twilight. The moment is perfect.

Off The Hip Trip
The sun hid its light, leaving the darkness and silence. Amid the
darkness, the moon was shining, though not as bright as the sun, but
light enough for one to admire its beauty. Meanwhile, the silence is
left to make an appropriate atmosphere to rest after a long day of
activity. Yes, noon is the time when the sun shines to incite activity
and survival, whereas the nights when the moon appears is a time to
rest.
Mask: You could wear a mask
of moss, a robe of wood, a wig of leaves – you could be nature itself,
perfectly hidden, and even with blind eyes I would always know you."
It was too windy for an outdoor photo session, so I kept it indoors. It's not necessarily my favorite way to get a blog session done, but at least I'm in a place where I feel comfortable. It makes it easier to get into the whole picture taking thing. Today's journey was peaceful. It's amazing, it was one of those days where I got everything on my to do list done because there was no interference. It's those tiny little things that make me happy.

Making Bacon Pancakes
First thing in the morning, make-up free and in my pajamas. It was the theme of the morning.
Bacon pancakes with whipped cream and cinnamon maple syrup, the bacon is inside the pancake.

Casual Traveler
I have the ability to trip up the stairs and somersault down them. I have bruises because I walk in to things I don't remember walking in to. I can be quite the klutz.
My hair color is whatever it wants to be that day. My stylist constantly tells me I have three naturally occurring shades in my hair: red, light brown, and espresso. My hair can go from a medium brown to a nearly black color. If it's really sunny, and I've been running a lot outside, then I get random blonde streaks. I have no clue what's wrong with my hair. My eye color goes from brown to green, depending on light and my mood. I have no idea what's wrong with them either.
The dress I am wearing is meant for the warmer months(light, airy, and made of cotton), and when you live in a desert you get more warm to hot months then you do a cold season. This image was taken in what should have been a cold season for us.
I enjoy being outside. I run outdoors. I play outdoors. I prefer my pictures to be taken outdoors. In the sense of fashion blogging, the appeal for this blog will be location.
Skin secret number three: On most days of the week I eat a diet high in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. There have been multiple studies that have shown that eating a diet rich in antioxidant-containing foods, such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains, has been linked to a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and other common ailments and illnesses. That probably explains why I don't get sick often. I also limit the amount of meat I eat. While I do actually like the taste of steak, chicken and other types of meat, I don't care for the texture of meat. My achilles heel is my dessert addiction.
